I’m so excited to share the details of one of my recent favorite sessions. It was a heartwarming in-home newborn session that I had the chance to do for Maggie and Alex Black, right in the heart of Cow Hollow, San Francisco.
As a local newborn lifestyle photographer, I’m naturally drawn to the distinct charm of Cow Hollow. The beautiful houses here capture the pure joy and love of welcoming a new life into the world.
Right from the moment I stepped into Maggie and Alex’s home, I was struck by the impeccable design and elegant decor. No doubt, the interiors were meticulously crafted by the talented Sabra Ballon from Ballon Studios, who created a space that was both classic and inviting. The soft, neutral colors and carefully chosen furniture set the scene just right for me to capture those intimate, heartfelt moments.
As we proceeded with the shoot, I couldn’t help but notice all the little details that made this home so special. The staircase, with its sleek lines and polished wood, turned out to be the perfect spot for some timeless portraits. And of course, no newborn session would be complete without including the family’s furry friend – their adorable dog, who was more than happy to pose for a few shots.
One of my favorite parts of the session was when we moved to the bedroom, where Maggie and Alex had prepared a cozy little space for their newborn. The white sheets and soft lighting created a serene and intimate atmosphere that was perfect for capturing those tender moments between parents and child.
Throughout the session, I was constantly in awe of Maggie and Alex’s parenting skills. They were so at ease with their little one, gently soothing and comforting whenever needed.
A Timeless Keepsake
As the session ended, I felt grateful for documenting this special time in Maggie and Alex’s life. Newborn sessions are always emotional, but there was something about the warmth and love in this home that made it truly unforgettable.
When is the Best Time for Newborn Photography?
Well, it’s those precious first two weeks, when your little bundle of joy is still getting used to the outside world. Between 6-20 days, babies are still in that cozy, curled-up mode, and it is considered the perfect time to capture those adorable, snuggly poses.
