I arrived at Chris and Nicola’s beautiful new home in Livermore for their son Gabriel’s newborn photography session. I was in awe seeing their gorgeous interior and how elegant their home looked for having moved in just a couple weeks ago! They both were so well prepared and knew exactly what their vision was for this session. Nicola mentioned how they chose me to photograph this special phase of their lives since they love my style of being able to capture intimacy and connection, and I am so glad that they did!
Nicola wanted to incorporate a few props to symbolize the love of their family members. A few years ago Nicola’s mom had passed away unexpectedly and therefore wanted to use a shawl passed down to her by her mother to represent her continuous love and ongoing presence in their lives. She also mentioned how seeing Gabriel wrapped up so beautifully in this shawl is a very special image for her which reminds her of how happy her mom must be to see Gabriel as a part of their lives! In addition to the shawl, we also incorporated a handmade name plaque made by her sister. Every aspect of this session was so well thought out and I feel honored to have captured this beautiful family!
Chris and Nicola are elated for this new chapter of their lives! “Having Gabriel come into our lives has been such an amazing gift and joy! We always knew that we wanted to add a little one to our family, but had no idea how immediately perfect and fulfilling this gift would be. It seems impossible to remember that just a few weeks ago there was no tiny person depending on us for everything in this world – and more importantly and fantastically for us, giving so much love and happiness to every sleep deprived moment of every day! To say we are the luckiest family and people in the world seems like the greatest understatement ever!!” ~ Nicola
