Baby Johan | San Francisco Newborn Photography

{In-Home Newborn Lifestyle Session}

I am so excited to share this recent newborn lifestyle session! I visited Bonnie and Per’s cozy apartment in San Francisco to photograph baby Johan. Both parents were over the moon to have him home! The natural light in their home was everything that a photographer could ask for. Additionally, their elegant interior decor made for a dreamy in-home session!

Congratulations Bonnie + Per!

“The day we met Johan was probably the best day of our lives. The entire labor experience, holding him and bringing him home felt so surreal. Two weeks later and we’re still just grasping that Johan is ours forever. Our dream of becoming parents has finally become a reality and we’re extremely grateful. The love we have for Johan is like no other, and we can’t wait to experience the rest of our lives with him.” ~ Bonnie

“Funny enough, my husband and I both worked for the same company for many years before we met. I was on the sales side in San Francisco and Per was in finance in Stockholm (he’s a native Swede), so it wasn’t until he was relocated to SF and a mutual friend/colleague hosted a Cinco de Mayo gathering at Fort Mason that we finally crossed paths. We always new we wanted kids but decided we would get married and spend a few years just the two of us before taking the leap.” ~ Bonnie

“We had a number of contenders but stumbled upon Johan after finding a family tree while visiting my husband’s family in Sweden. My father in law goes by Birger but his first name is Johan and so is his grandfathers. We liked the idea of a Swedish name that came from the family, which is how we chose Johan.” ~ Bonnie

“I thought I was ready for motherhood but even with all of the knowledge I had, nothing could have prepared me for the wide range of emotions I felt and still feel as a new mom. You’re suddenly responsible for this tiny little human, and while taking care of him has felt natural, there are moments where you wonder if you’re doing things right. It’s a lot of trial and error. The first few weeks can be a little overwhelming at times, especially with the lack of sleep but it’s all worth it. Everyone says to sleep when the baby sleeps and I can’t second that enough… sleep deprivation has been the biggest struggle so far but I wouldn’t change anything for the world!” ~ Bonnie

“Shefali is an amazing photographer — not only do we love how bright, crisp and clean they are, she does such a great job capturing the feelings and emotions of the moment. She was really patient when we had to take breaks to feed our little boy and had such a great eye for different and unique shots. We loved working with her!” ~ Bonnie & Per
